St. Paisios on spiritually celebrating the Feasts

St. Paisios on spiritually celebrating the Feasts (amateur translation)
For us to experience the feasts, we must have our minds on the holy days, and not on the work that we have to do for the holy days. We should think about the events of every holy day (Christmas, Theophany, Pascha, etc.) and we should say the [Jesus] prayer, glorifying God. Thus we will celebrate each feast with great reverence. Wordly people associate Christmas with pork, Pascha with lamb, Meatfare with confetti. But true monks experience the divine events every day, and rejoice continually. Every week they experience Holy Week. Every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, they experience Holy Wednesday, Holy Thursday, Holy Friday, in other words, the Passion of Christ, and every Sunday, Pascha, the Resurrection.

Through the prayers of our Holy Fathers, Lord Jesus Christ our God, have mercy on us and save us! Amen!
